Court status
Jaiden Orion Segundo, 26, was arrested Wednesday and faces six felony counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to FOX 10 Phoenix, which cited court documents. He was ordered held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court again Tuesday, the outlet reported.
Allegations in the case
Authorities allege the 17-year-old, who had run away from a group home, was picked up in North Phoenix and taken to a trailer in Buckeye, where investigators say Segundo held her and sexually assaulted her six times, according to FOX 10 Phoenix.

According to FOX 10 Phoenix, Arizona Department of Child Safety records indicate that 82% of children reported missing, abducted or runaway between May and July 31, 2025, were located within 24 hours. The report also said 74% of missing DCS children vanished from group homes between January 2024 and September 2025.
Missing-child reporting context
Arizona’s Missing, Abducted, and Runaway Children Unit was established in 2024 and, according to the same FOX 10 Phoenix report, requires law enforcement to be notified within 24 hours when a child disappears. Nationally, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General counted 110,446 missing-child episodes during its review period from July 1, 2018, through Dec. 31, 2020. The agency found that 65% of the missing children in its audit data were ages 15 to 17; those national figures do not establish what occurred in the Buckeye case.
An Arizona Auditor General report said the Department of Child Safety reported 254 group homes and 13 shelters operated by 85 actively licensed child-welfare agencies as of July 2023.
Records and medical findings
The court documents described injuries investigators considered consistent with restraint and choking, including contusions on the teen’s neck and lacerations on her forearm. FOX 10 Phoenix reported that she later identified Segundo in a photo lineup.
Segundo’s statements
According to the reported investigation, Segundo initially told Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office detectives that he did not know the girl. He later acknowledged having sex with her, but said the encounter was consensual and that he did not know her age. The charges and allegations have not been resolved in court.
Earlier conviction
Segundo was on probation for a prior conviction involving a minor when the alleged assaults occurred, according to FOX 10 Phoenix. The current allegations remain pending.
