The Kansas City-area debut comes from a restaurant group with an existing foothold in Central Florida, according to The Kansas City Star. The Star reports the group has an existing location in the Orlando area. A directory listing from MapQuest places a Jala Indian Cuisine at 155 E Morse Blvd. in Winter Park, Florida, describing it as an Indian fine-dining spot with a curated seasonal menu of curries and tandoori specials.
The name itself carries meaning: Jala translates to water in Sanskrit, the Star notes. The dining room features greenery and blossom-tree elements.

The Metcalf Avenue address has a bit of turnover history behind it. Jala replaced Another Broken Egg at the former Overland Park brunch space, with the previous tenant exiting the Kansas City metro months before Jala took over the location, according to the Star's reporting.
