Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams is set to open a shop at Avenue East Cobb later in 2026, becoming the beloved ice cream maker's 11th metro Atlanta location and its third in Cobb County. The new scoop shop will take over the former Press Waffle Co. space at 4475 Roswell Road, Suite 1810, inside the shopping center's newly built jewel box retail building.
The move was reported by East Cobb News, which detailed the coming arrival as part of its coverage of East Cobb business openings. Jeni's already has a presence in Cobb County with locations at The Battery Atlanta and on Church Street near Marietta Square, and the Avenue East Cobb shop will mark its third in the county, according to the same report. No specific opening date has been announced yet.
A Jewel Box Space With Recent Turnover
The 1,175-square-foot suite Jeni's will occupy was most recently home to Press Waffle Co., the Texas-based waffle franchise, which opened at Avenue East Cobb in January 2024 before closing in February 2026, per The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. That space is one of two standalone 2,500-square-foot jewel box buildings introduced when Avenue East Cobb's redevelopment broke ground in August 2022, according to Urbanize Atlanta, part of an overhaul that also added an 8,000-square-foot central public plaza.
The other jewel box building at the center is now home to Tenku Sushi Elevation, East Cobb News reports.
Growing Under New Leadership
Jeni's expansion into East Cobb comes as the Columbus, Ohio-based company pushes further into franchised scoop shop growth and grocery store distribution under new CEO David Stever, the former Ben & Jerry's chief who took the helm in April 2026, as Hoodline previously reported. Founded in 2002 by Jeni Britton, the company has been a Certified B Corporation since 2014, according to gb&d magazine.
Beyond its scoop shops, Jeni's distributes pints to roughly 15,000 grocery stores nationwide, including Whole Foods, Target, Kroger, and Albertsons, per reporting from Hunt Scanlon Media. The Avenue East Cobb shop will be Jeni's 11th metro Atlanta location, joining existing shops at Ashford Lane, Westside Provisions, Krog Street, Buckhead, Glenwood Park, Plaza on Ponce, Avalon, and Decatur, according to East Cobb News. The chain now operates more than 80 ice cream shops across 14 states, with a menu featuring more than 20 rotating flavors, including Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, and Savannah Buttermint, along with dairy-free and gluten-free options, ice cream bars, and ice cream sandwiches.
Part of a Broader Dining Refresh
Jeni's arrival adds to Avenue East Cobb's culinary lineup, which includes Italian bakery Giulia and the 4,400-square-foot restaurant Luga. The Gjuka brothers announced a November 24 opening for Luga, East Cobb News has reported. The demographics around the 230,000-square-foot retail district help explain why upscale brands keep signing on: leasing data from property manager Jamestown shows the three-mile radius surrounding Avenue East Cobb has a population of 66,656 residents with a median household income of $162,970 and an average home value of $863,321.
Avenue East Cobb was developed in 1999 as a 230,000-square-foot retail district. Jamestown, the center's property manager, said in its release announcing the Jeni's deal that the new shop will give the East Cobb community a local location to enjoy.
