Kansas City's ceramics nonprofit moved from its Waldo location to a much larger building, and the new studios are ready for the guild's next chapter. KC Clay Guild bought and renovated an 18,600-square-foot building at 500 W. 39th Street in Midtown Kansas City, a dramatic upgrade from its former space in Waldo.
The guild offers recurring classes, and the new location offers private studios for rent; Kansas City Magazine has also reported on the move. The organization moved from its 200 W. 74th Street location to 500 W. 39th Street, soft-opening at the new location on September 1 ahead of an official grand opening set for September 12 and 13, according to KC Clay Guild.
The new building brings three dedicated teaching studios for wheel throwing and handbuilding, along with a community gathering place. The site at 500 W. 39th Street now serves as the guild's Midtown home.

The BUILD Capital Campaign supports the purchase, renovation and outfitting of the Midtown building.
