According to the National Weather Service, Friday should stay sunny with little wind and only a small chance of rain. Temperatures will climb through the afternoon, with the hottest stretch arriving from midafternoon into early evening; tonight should turn mostly clear with a low near 74.
Storm Chances Return Saturday
Saturday stays hot, with a high near 96 and a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. A few storms in the wider region could become strong, with damaging wind gusts the main concern, while Knoxville's outlook remains mostly sunny for much of the day.
Sunday brings a small step down to around 93 degrees, with another 20% chance of afternoon storms. Labor Day looks closer to 90 degrees, but a 30% storm chance arrives after 2 p.m.; after that, mostly sunny conditions return Tuesday through Thursday, with highs back in the low 90s.

People working or exercising outside should take frequent breaks, drink water, and move strenuous activity to the morning or evening when possible. The Knoxville-Knox County Office of Housing Stability lists heat-relief options including Knox Area Rescue Ministries at 418 N Broadway and the Volunteer Ministry Center at 511 N Broadway, along with guidance to seek shade or air conditioning from noon to 6 p.m.
Heat illness can show up as dizziness, nausea, confusion or fainting; call 911 if someone is in serious distress. The advisory expires at 8 p.m. Friday, but the weekend's heat means hydration and a little patience will still be useful long after the alert ends.
