On Saturday, September 19, from 5 to 7 p.m., the McDonald's at 4350 Palm Ave. will host a free, family-friendly Lucha Libre showcase featuring live matches, luchador meet-and-greets and giveaways as part of a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration.
According to NBC 7 San Diego, McDonald's is bringing Lucha Libre to San Diego specifically for Hispanic Heritage Month, framing the event as a way to celebrate the connection between the San Diego and Tijuana communities through wrestling. The event listing on KPBS confirms the matches will be produced by Masked Republic, with attendees able to meet luchadores from Tijuana and California, see McDonaldland character appearances, and enter prize giveaways.
Who's Stepping Into the Ring
The lineup for Saturday's event, per a report from PWInsider, includes Tinieblas Jr. appearing with Alushe, along with Bestia, Hijo de Rey Misterio, Destiny, Enigma, Angel Metaliko, Enigma Jr. and a wrestler listed simply as Halloween.

A Van Nuys location on Van Nuys Boulevard has one scheduled for next Saturday, September 26, also from 5 to 7 p.m., with prizes and other special activities planned; complimentary Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer samples are set for both of those Los Angeles-area stops as well.
Chula Vista Gets Its Turn Next
San Diego County residents who miss Saturday's event, or who simply want to catch a second show, will get another chance next week. A listing from San Diego Magazine confirms a second Noches de Lucha Libre event is set for Friday, September 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the McDonald's on Broadway in Chula Vista.
The broader timing lines up with how Hispanic Heritage Month is typically marked in Southern California. Per NBC Los Angeles, the observance runs annually from September 15 through October 15, giving McDonald's roughly a month-long window to stage its four-city lucha libre series across the region.
