Tacos, tostadas, and a margarita named after a masked wrestler have landed in Old Town Keller. Luna Loco, a new Mexican restaurant at 228 S. Main St., is now serving up chips and queso, enchiladas, street tacos, and burritos out of a freshly built 2,100-square-foot space on Main Street, with its official opening announced after weeks of a soft-opening menu.
The restaurant held a soft opening on August 21, according to Community Impact, with an official opening following on August 27 per the restaurant's Facebook page. The current menu leans into Tex-Mex comfort food alongside Taco Tuesday specials on tacos and margaritas, and a signature drink list that includes the Lucha Libre margarita, an espresso martini, and a Fanta creamsicle cocktail. Beer drinkers can choose from Modelo Especial, Dos Equis, Estrella Jalisco, Michelob Ultra, and Miller Lite on tap.
Luna Loco is backed by restaurateurs Cary Moon and Greg Polson, who, along with business partner David DeWald, already run several venues in Old Town Keller. The trio owns Old Town Keller staples Keller Tavern, Keller Chophouse, and Keller Roundhouse, according to Community Impact. Moon brings additional civic clout to the launch: he assumed office on the Fort Worth City Council in 2015 and left office on May 17, 2022 before running for the Texas House of Representatives, per Ballotpedia.
A Bigger Regional Push Beyond Keller
The same ownership group has been expanding well past Old Town Keller in recent months. In June 2025, Moon, Polson, and DeWald announced plans to acquire the former Chop Shop Live property in downtown Roanoke, converting the 7,000-square-foot facility and its 10,000-square-foot outdoor space into a 350-seat live music venue called Roanoke Live, with Roanoke Tavern and Café Republic also planned for the property — the same report notes. Hoodline's earlier coverage of David Archuleta's Arlington tour stop also traced the group's investment history to its 2015 acquisition and renovation of Arlington Music Hall.
Luna Loco isn't the only new tenant at 228 S. Main St. Southern Soul & Co., a boutique selling women's western fashion, accessories, and turquoise jewelry, occupies the same building and held its official Grand Opening Celebration on September 12, according to AllEvents. The retail building itself is new construction, giving both businesses direct storefront frontage along Main Street.
Old Town Keller's Long Runway For Growth
Old Town Keller continues to see commercial development along Main Street. That stretch of Main Street has a growing retail and dining base.
Luna Loco arrives amid a broader wave of culinary investment reshaping Old Town Keller in 2026. Hoodline previously reported on plans for HOPS, a 7,200-square-foot Chinese-and-steak restaurant with a speakeasy-like lounge set for 200 Keller Parkway. Nearby, Outpost 36 merged with 76 Steakroom, with an on-site meat market also part of the operation last year, and in June, Eagle Tavern opened at 721 Keller Parkway in the suite once occupied by Baja Cantina, bringing a sports bar and grill concept operated by team members tied to Roanoke's The Goat Tavern.
What's Next For The Menu
Luna Loco is now open, and the restaurant plans to expand to a full menu. Additional programming, including Lotería nights and live music, is expected as the ownership group works to establish Luna Loco as a late-night anchor in a corridor that continues to see rapid dining turnover and redevelopment.
