Blue Angels Headline a Multi-Branch Flying Roster
Confirmed as headliners for 2026, the Blue Angels will fly their F/A-18 Super Hornets alongside the squadron's C-130J Hercules support aircraft, nicknamed Fat Albert, per the same official site. The flight schedule also includes a tactical demonstration by the Marine Corps' F-35B Lightning II, the event's website notes.
Beyond the aerial lineup, the show's signature ground spectacle remains the Marine Air-Ground Task Force demonstration, which simulates a tactical battlefield assault on the crowd line using ground troops, armor, close-air support, and pyrotechnics, per the same source. The combined-arms display features Marine units based at Miramar.
What It Takes to Get Onto the Base
Because Miramar remains an active military installation, base security guidelines require every attendee 18 or older to present a valid government-issued ID at the gate, while non-U.S. citizens must carry documentation showing current legal status in the country, according to guidelines cited by KPBS.
