A 15-year-old Westhampton girl who went missing after taking a bus from Hampshire Regional High School to Williamsburg has been found safe and is back with her family. Giuliana Martinez was reported missing on Sept. 23, setting off a search across two small Hampshire County towns before she turned up safe in Williamsburg.
Martinez took a bus from the high school to Williamsburg, and reports differ slightly on exactly when she was last believed to be in the area, with one account placing it around 12:50 p.m. and another around 1 p.m., according to WWLP and Yahoo News, respectively. From there, Martinez left a residence on Village Hill Road in Williamsburg on foot, according to the same WWLP report, prompting concern for her whereabouts.
Search Launched Across Two Towns
She was last seen wearing a bright pink hoodie, sweatpants and white sneakers, the station reported. In response, the Williamsburg and Westhampton police departments asked the public for help locating the teenager, according to the outlet's account of the search.
The search did not last long. Martinez was found safe in Williamsburg and is now in the care of her family, per the same WWLP report. The Franklin County Now reported that Martinez's safe recovery was announced this weekend.
