Paramedics climbed down to treat the patient at the bottom of the slope before the extraction, and the motorcyclist was ultimately transported to the hospital.

, crews were dispatched to the downed rider on the winding mountain highway, and the rescue was carried out successfully with the motorcyclist reported in stable condition at the hospital. The agency said the operation drew on assistance from CAL FIRE/San Mateo County Fire, La Honda Fire, Coastside Fire, AMR, the California Highway Patrol, and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. CAL FIRE CZU credited the rescue to the area's mutual aid system and cooperation among local partner agencies.
The Saturday incident was not an isolated one. Per the same CAL FIRE CZU report, a second motorcyclist crashed on that same stretch of Highway 84 the same day, and that rider was also hospitalized in stable condition after being airlifted. The first motorcyclist involved in the pair of crashes was flown out by air ambulance, the agency said.
