The truck was headed southbound on Route ZZ when it went off the west side of the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned before settling back on its wheels facing southeast, according to an official crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. The male driver, a Maitland resident, was wearing his seat belt and suffered only minor injuries in the wreck, the state patrol report shows. He was transported by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic Medical Center in Maryville, while the seriously injured passenger was carried by Atchison-Holt Ambulance, according to the same report. KQ2 had reported that the passenger was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville.
Total Loss After the Rollover
The truck was declared a total loss and towed from the scene by Shell's Towing of Maryville, according to the crash documentation.
