A 50-year-old on-duty MTA station employee was sprayed at the Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Street station, leaving the worker hospitalized. Police are still searching for the person they believe carried it out.

According to the Brooklyn Eagle, an MTA worker was sprayed at the station. EMS responded and transported the victim to Brooklyn Hospital Center, where the worker was listed in stable condition.
NYPD Releases Images, Seeks Public's Help
The NYPD is now searching for the person suspected in the assault and has released images of them in hopes that someone can identify them. The person is described as young, with a dark complexion and long two-toned hair, and was wearing glasses, a black sweatshirt and black pants at the time of the attack, per the same account.
Part Of A Broader Pattern Of Confrontations
Assaults on transit workers have periodically drawn attention across the city. A May 20, 2024, incident at a Queens subway station, for instance, saw an on-duty MTA conductor attacked while trying to break up a fight, leaving him with a minor injury, according to a New York Post report published June 5, 2024.
No arrest has been announced in last week's Atlantic Avenue incident, and the identity of the suspect remains unconfirmed. Investigators continue to rely on the public to help track down the person seen in the released images.
