Friday night should stay partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around 63 degrees as north winds run 8 to 13 mph. Saturday will be noticeably cooler, with partly sunny skies, daytime temperatures struggling to get out of the upper 60s, especially in eastern sections, and an east wind that could keep exposed areas feeling brisk.
Saturday night turns mostly cloudy ahead of the next weather system. The more comfortable part of the weekend is likely to be Friday afternoon and Saturday, so outdoor plans may want to take advantage of the brief dry break.
Sunday Brings Showers And A Flooding Concern
Rain showers are increasingly likely Sunday. The heaviest rain is more likely from late Sunday afternoon into Sunday evening, when isolated to scattered flooding could develop in vulnerable spots.
Sunday night could bring showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Monday could remain primarily dry or have only light showers, with cooler conditions; forecast confidence is low.
Cool, Breezy Weather May Linger Into Next Week
Below-normal temperatures and an east-to-northeast flow are expected from Monday through Wednesday.
No land-based watches or warnings are posted for New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect from midnight Friday to noon Saturday for portions of the ocean waters, while the rip-current risk is expected to remain low Saturday.
