South winds will stay light Monday at roughly 3 to 10 mph as temperatures climb through the 90s. The broader advisory area could see heat-index values from 105 to 110.
Heat Advisory Runs Through Tuesday Evening
The National Weather Service says the combination of extreme heat and humidity could cause heat illnesses, with the advisory lasting until 7 p.m. Tuesday. Drink plenty of fluids, use air conditioning when possible, avoid the afternoon sun and check on relatives and neighbors, especially during the hottest hours.
Tuesday will bring another sunny high near 100, with heat-index values as high as 105 and south winds up to 10 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The latest forecast extends the dangerous heat beyond the earlier Labor Day setup covered by Hoodline.
Storm Chances Arrive After One More Triple-Digit Day
Wednesday could be the hottest day of the stretch, with a high near 101. Thursday should bring some relief, with rain chances remaining close to zero through Friday.
Heat returns Friday through Sunday, with highs near 97, 98 and 96 degrees, respectively, along with only slight rain chances. Outdoor plans are safest in the morning or evening until the midweek front brings cooler air.
