Monday should turn mostly sunny after a small chance of morning showers, with southeast winds. Monday night will have a low near 70°F, followed by a partly sunny Tuesday that could reach 91°F.
Tuesday will also be breezier, with south winds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts up to 30 mph. That warmup is a sharper prelude to the unsettled weather ahead than the earlier outlook covered by Hoodline.
Storms And Heavy Rain Take Over Midweek
Rain chances rise late Tuesday night, then reach 70% Wednesday as showers and thunderstorms spread across the area. The National Weather Service in Norman says widespread, potentially flooding rainfall is possible from late Tuesday through the end of the week.
Wednesday’s high should reach about 85°F, but stronger storms could bring dangerous conditions, including a chance for tornadoes or large hail. Thursday stays wet and mostly cloudy with a high near 80°F and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, while no watches or warnings are currently posted for Oklahoma City.
Cooler Air Arrives For The Weekend
Temperatures should finally feel more fall-like Friday, with a high near 78°F and a 40% chance of additional showers and thunderstorms. Saturday and Sunday look cooler and somewhat quieter, with highs near 80°F and 80°F, though scattered showers remain possible.
Outdoor plans may be workable Monday and Tuesday, but Wednesday through Friday will require more flexibility. Residents should watch for updated forecasts, especially if heavy rain begins to collect on roads or storms intensify.
