Original ChopShop is set to open its newest Texas restaurant at Richardson's CityLine Market on September 16, bringing protein bowls, salads, sandwiches, all-day breakfast, and fresh juices and protein shakes to the retail center anchored by Whole Foods Market. The fast-casual chain will open its doors at 1419 E. Renner Road at 10 a.m., and the first 50 guests through the door will receive a branded tote bag with an entree purchase.

The Richardson debut marks Original ChopShop's 30th location systemwide and its 16th restaurant in Texas, according to Community Impact. Beyond the opening-day giveaway, customers who download the Original ChopShop mobile app and spend $7 or more within 20 days of registering will receive $3 off rewards for 30 days, as reported by CultureMap Dallas.

Once open, the restaurant will operate Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., per the same account, covering everyone from early breakfast-goers to late dinner diners. Construction filings and project permits indicate the space is a 3,249-square-foot finish-out of a retail shell, according to a report from CW33.

A Health-Focused Anchor Tenant for CityLine Market

Original ChopShop offers healthful, convenient, and affordable food options, according to company CEO Jason Morgan.

CityLine Market, where the new restaurant is located, is an 81,000-square-foot retail center developed by Regency Centers and anchored by a 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market, according to Regency Centers. The shopping center sits within CityLine, a 186-acre mixed-use development by KDC that also includes corporate campuses for State Farm and Raytheon, nearly 4,000 residential units, and more than 50 dining and retail options, per KDC.

Eight Years of North Texas Growth

Original ChopShop made its Dallas-Fort Worth debut in April 2018, opening its first Texas restaurant in Irving's Las Colinas neighborhood, according to a company announcement carried by PR Newswire. Though the brand was founded in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2013, it relocated its corporate headquarters to nearby Plano in 2016 following an acquisition by private equity firm Hargett Hunter Capital Partners, as detailed by Restaurant Development + Design. Morgan, who now leads the company as CEO, previously served as CFO of Zoës Kitchen.

The Richardson opening builds on the brand's earlier North Texas expansion, including its Lakewood Village location that Hoodline first covered back in 2019. That Lakewood shop was among the new business openings Hoodline highlighted in Dallas at the start of 2020.

Digital Ordering Drives the Business Model

Morgan reported in January 2025 that more than 50% of Original ChopShop's total sales now come from digital orders, with 45% tied to loyalty app members, according to the same Restaurant Development + Design report. That shift prompted the company to install self-order kiosks across all of its locations to handle custom, multi-item orders.

Menu staples travelers can expect at the Richardson location include the Teriyaki Chicken Protein Bowl, served with a choice of sweet potato hash or forbidden rice, along with the Citrus Thai Salad and Coconut Chia Pudding, according to CultureMap Dallas. The chain's offerings are built to accommodate gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, and protein-forward diets, giving the CityLine Market crowd — from Whole Foods shoppers to State Farm and Raytheon employees working nearby — another quick, health-minded lunch option in the Telecom Corridor.
