According to FOX5 Vegas, Las Vegas police responded to the auto-pedestrian crash Monday night, and the Regional Transportation Commission reported via alert that the closure affected all eastbound lanes on Tropicana at Duneville Street. The exact circumstances of how the pedestrian entered the roadway have not been detailed publicly.
A Corridor With a Troubling Recent History
This stretch of west Tropicana Avenue has seen repeated tragedy in recent months. At the same time, NRS 484B.287 requires pedestrians crossing outside a marked crosswalk or intersection to yield to oncoming vehicles and bars mid-block crossings between adjacent signalized intersections.
