Wednesday is expected to have temperatures near to slightly above normal, with a 20% to 30% chance of showers or thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service says the better rain chances should remain east and north of the Phoenix metro, but lower-desert storms cannot be ruled out. Any activity could bring brief heavy rain, sudden wind gusts and isolated dust rather than a widespread soaking.
Heat Rebounds For The Weekend
Thursday has a slight chance of showers or thunderstorms, while temperatures through the weekend are expected to remain within a broad lower-desert range.
Monday remains warm with another slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. The new forecast adds a more active midweek setup compared with the earlier outlook, which had focused mainly on a hot, drier stretch; Monday's Hoodline forecast covered that hotter, drier stretch.
What Phoenix Residents Should Know
Tuesday's heat will still be serious enough to make midday outdoor plans uncomfortable, even without a heat warning. Drink water, take breaks in air conditioning or shade and avoid leaving children or pets in parked vehicles.
For outdoor plans, Wednesday evening is the main window to watch for changing conditions. Otherwise, Phoenix is headed back toward another very hot weekend, with Friday near 98 degrees and Saturday near 104 degrees.
