How Friday’s Winds Compare With Past Events
A separate storm on Feb. 24, 2025, brought a damaging-wind threat to parts of the Portland/Vancouver metro area, with gusts forecast to reach 50 mph, OPB reported. That forecast from a different storm does not establish impacts from Friday’s advisory.
Washington County says an October 2014 windstorm brought sustained winds of 50 to 60 mph and left more than 100,000 people without power in the Portland metropolitan region. Those documented impacts belong to that past event, not Friday’s forecast.
Weekend Outlook
Saturday brings fog from 7 to 9 a.m. and a high near 72 degrees.
Dry weather and temperatures in the mid-to-upper 60s are forecast into early next week. Portland should remain seasonably cool into Monday and Tuesday, with highs around 66 and only a small chance of rain before another slight rain chance develops Tuesday night into Wednesday.
