Victoria Monét is coming home. The three-time Grammy winner, who moved to Sacramento as a teenager and graduated from Sheldon High School, will play Sacramento Memorial Auditorium on December 16 as part of her newly announced 27-city Frequency of Love Tour.
The Sacramento stop is the second-to-last scheduled date on the run, according to CBS Sacramento, which broke the news of the hometown show. The tour kicks off October 27 in Raleigh, North Carolina, and wraps December 17 in San Francisco, meaning Monét will play two Northern California dates within a day of each other to close things out.
The trek supports Monét's upcoming sophomore album, also titled Frequency of Love, which is set for release on October 2 through Lovett Music and RCA Records, according to 313 Presents. The 17-track project has been previewed by three singles: “Let Me,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Adult R&B Airplay chart in June, “Reach Out” in July, and “Juicy” in September.
A Foundation Built Into the Ticket Price
Alongside the tour announcement, Monét launched the Frequency Of Love Foundation, a youth-focused education and wellness charity, per Pollstar. Ticket buyers for the North American run can choose to contribute $1 at checkout to directly support community garden programs, with the initiative aimed at teaching children agricultural, culinary, and wellness education, the outlet reports.
The tour also caps a breakout summer for Monét, who spent it performing as a special guest on the European and U.K. leg of Bruno Mars' stadium-level Romantic Tour. Her performances spanned major venues including London's Wembley Stadium, with additional stops in Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Madrid, and Milan, according to InMusic. The Romantic Tour's stadium shows in Paris, Madrid and London helped build momentum heading into her own headlining run, per the same account.
From Elk Grove Dance Studios to the Grammy Stage
Monét, who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, has deep roots in the Sacramento region. She pleaded with her mother to relocate so she could enroll in the performing arts program at Sheldon High School in Elk Grove, according to CBS News. She trained daily in the school's Universal Rhythm dance company and was voted by classmates as “Most Likely to be on So You Think You Can Dance,” the station reports, with her former dance coach recalling her early passion for choreography.
Before her solo breakthrough, Monét spent more than a decade as a behind-the-scenes songwriter, co-writing tracks across all six of Ariana Grande's early albums from Yours Truly through Positions, according to Harper's Bazaar. She has also written songs for Fifth Harmony, Nas, Chloe x Halle, and Blackpink, and her work on Grande's 2018 album Thank U, Next earned her two Album of the Year Grammy nominations.
Her 2023 single “On My Mama,” which sampled Chalie Boy's 2009 hit “I Look Good,” peaked at No. 33 on the Billboard Hot 100, earned Platinum certification, and picked up Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best R&B Song, per Wikipedia. The song's music video also won Video of the Year at the Soul Train Music Awards.
A Historic Venue for a Homecoming Show
At the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in February 2024, Monét was nominated for seven awards and won three: Best New Artist, Best R&B Album for Jaguar II, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. In her acceptance speech, she described the moment as a “15-year pursuit” dating back to when she relocated to Los Angeles in 2009.
That same Grammy season delivered a family milestone: Monét's daughter, Hazel Monét, became the youngest nominee in Grammy history at age two when she was featured alongside Earth, Wind & Fire on the track “Hollywood,” which received a nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance. Hazel attended the 2024 ceremony alongside her mother.
Built in 1926 and opened in February 1927, Sacramento Memorial Auditorium at 1515 J Street seats 3,849 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, according to Wikipedia. Constructed in a Southern European Early Renaissance revival style as a tribute to Sacramento County veterans of the Spanish-American War and World War I, the venue is now part of the city's SAFE Credit Union Convention and Performing Arts District and reopened in 1996 following extensive seismic and modernizing renovations.

Presales for the 27-city tour, which spans stops across the United States and Canada, begin Monday, September 14 at 8 a.m. local time for Citi cardmembers and Verizon Shine loyalty members, with artist presales opening at 11 a.m. local time. General public tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 16 at 10 a.m. local time via Live Nation.
