San Diego is waking up under cloudy skies Sunday. The gray start should give way to mostly sunny conditions by the afternoon.
Clouds Clear By Late Morning
Low clouds across the coastal basin may linger into the morning before thinning. Light winds are expected to become west at 10 mph.
Sunday night will turn cloudy again, with coastal overnight temperatures not dropping below the lower 70s and light winds. Monday may start with low clouds and fog, followed by similar conditions Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Sunny Stretch Builds Toward Next Weekend
Temperatures are expected to stay near average through midweek before warming into next weekend, while overnight lows vary.
That coastal forecast stays fairly comfortable, but temperatures will be much higher away from the water. High-desert communities are expected to reach the mid to upper 90s, while low-desert areas could climb to 105 to 108 degrees.
