Heat Advisory Arrives Wednesday
A Heat Advisory runs from 10 a.m. Wednesday through 10 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. The agency says temperatures could run 10 to 20 degrees above normal, with moderate to major heat risk affecting much of the Bay Area.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 95 degrees in San Jose. Thursday stays hot in San Jose.
Cooler Weather Finally Shows Up Friday
The heat breaks Friday, when temperatures are expected to cool to near normal. The weekend looks considerably more comfortable, with temperatures a few degrees below normal.
The Bay Area experienced a historic heat wave in June 2019.
The outlook includes overnight temperatures and sunshine.
Hydration Matters During The Peak
Residents should drink water regularly, wear lightweight clothing and move strenuous outdoor activity to the early morning or evening during the advisory. Children and pets should never be left in unattended vehicles, where temperatures can become dangerous within minutes.
