Las Vegas is heading into another furnace Friday, with clear skies and temperatures climbing from around 90 degrees early to a forecast high near 106. The heat arrives with a second nuisance: southwest winds that will build through the afternoon, making outdoor plans hotter, drier and potentially more hazardous.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will remain sunny with south-southwest winds ranging from 3 to 20 mph and gusts reaching 28 mph. The chance of rain is just 3%, so the main concerns are heat exposure and rapidly drying conditions.
Afternoon Winds Add To Friday’s Heat
Temperatures are expected to pass 100 degrees around midday and peak near 106 in the late afternoon before easing slightly toward evening. Humidity will stay very low, while winds increase from roughly 10 mph around noon to about 20 mph by late afternoon.
Friday night will offer limited relief, with mostly clear skies, southwest winds of 14 to 21 mph and a low near 84. The weather service is also flagging elevated fire-weather concerns across the region, including portions of Clark County, as strong winds combine with dry air.
Weekend Temperatures Ease But Stay Hot
Saturday brings a high near 103 with south winds of 14 to 22 mph and gusts up to 33 mph. Sunday drops to around 100, then highs settle near 98 Monday and Tuesday before reaching about 97 Wednesday and Thursday.
Overnight temperatures finally dip into the upper 70s beginning Sunday night, but Saturday night will remain warm near 82. That gradual cooldown is welcome, though Las Vegas will still be dealing with above-normal heat well into next week.

Daytime cooling stations are available across Clark County through Friday for residents who need a break from the heat. The county’s cooling station information advises people to drink water, avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest hours and check on older neighbors or anyone without reliable air conditioning.
