A new report says the burger spot could be eyeing a Berkeley location at 1823 Solano Ave., though the owners plan to open in January, a plan that could still change.
A Possible Berkeley Address, But No Confirmation
The report, published by WhatNow, states that California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control records suggest Smish Smash could be planning a Berkeley location, per public records. The address named is 1823 Solano Ave., Berkeley, though that same address is currently listed on Yelp as the home of a business called Chimmelier, according to a Yelp business listing. A search snippet from the San Francisco Chronicle separately indicates that Smish Smash currently operates as a kiosk inside Saluhall and will expand with a location in Berkeley, though that detail could not be independently verified beyond the snippet itself.
The owners plan to open a Berkeley outpost in January, although that plan could change. Smish Smash has not publicly announced hours for the Berkeley restaurant, while planned menu additions include Truffle Papi, chili cheese fries, fried chicken sandwiches, fried fish sandwiches, beer, and possible breakfast items.

For now, Smish Smash operates in San Francisco, where it built its Bay Area presence through pop-ups before establishing a more permanent location. The menu centers on smash burgers made with thin beef patties cooked on a griddle, alongside fries, house sauces, and desserts.
The lineup includes the Signature Burger, the Classic Burger, the OG Burger, the Wow Burger, the Vic Mac Jr. Burger, the Cheeseboiga, and the Reggie Miller Burger. Diners looking for a meat-free option can get an Impossible patty swapped in. Sides include shoestring fries and curly fries, and the dessert case includes banana pudding.
Getting To The Current San Francisco Spot
Smish Smash's existing Saluhall location sits on the first floor, according to the restaurant's own website. The kiosk also takes a daily one-hour break between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Whether that same operating rhythm would carry over to a Berkeley shop remains unknown, since no hours have been made public. For now, Berkeley burger fans will have to wait for an official word from Smish Smash before marking their calendars.
