The bigger shift arrives Thursday, when light rain is likely after 11 a.m. and temperatures top out near 62 degrees. Rain remains likely Thursday night, while Friday brings continued rain and cool temperatures. The weekend forecast calls for a ridge and highs in the lower to mid-60s.
The wetter timing is a notable change from the mostly pleasant setup outlined in Hoodline's earlier forecast. The latest outlook now points to Thursday as the week’s main rainmaker, with the National Weather Service also calling for a stronger system to move through Thursday night into Friday.
Boaters Face Stronger Winds Monday Night
Seattle-area boaters should watch the water Monday afternoon into early Tuesday, when a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for parts of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The National Weather Service says winds will increase there and seas could build to 7 to 9 feet overnight. Tuesday also brings the autumnal equinox at 5:05 p.m., a fitting calendar marker for the forecast’s turn toward cooler, wetter days.
