Squeeze will perform at Encore Theater at Wynn in Las Vegas on Wednesday, September 16 at 8 p.m., bringing along a concept album that took half a century to reach a stage. The nine-piece band's set will lean heavily on Trixies, the newly released record built from songs co-founders Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford wrote in 1974, when Tilbrook was 16 and Difford was 19. Adam Ant will join as a special guest for the show.
The bones of Trixies sat dormant for roughly 50 years before Squeeze finally recorded them, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The songs were set in a fictional nightclub and were shaped by 1970s rock concept albums, drawing on a narrative style similar to Damon Runyon's storytelling, as noted by Wikipedia. Tilbrook has said he simply could not sing the material when he wrote it, and that he didn't reach his full voice until after Squeeze had already made six albums, per the Review-Journal's account.
From Teenage Demos to a Charting Studio Album
Trixies officially arrived on March 6, 2026, through BMG Rights Management and Love Records, debuting at No. 15 on the UK Albums Chart. The 13-track record was produced by Squeeze bassist Owen Biddle and executive produced by Tilbrook, with spatial audio mixing from veteran engineer Bob Clearmountain. It marks the band's first studio album of original material in more than eight years, following The Knowledge in October 2017.
Squeeze plans to perform about half to three-quarters of the Trixies songs at the Encore Theater show, folding the new-old material in alongside staples like Tempted, Pulling Mussels (From the Shell), Hourglass and Black Coffee in Bed, the Review-Journal reports. Tilbrook, who turned 69 on August 31, has called the current nine-piece lineup the best version of Squeeze yet. Tilbrook and Difford are the band's co-founders and scored UK No. 2 hits with Cool for Cats and Up the Junction in 1979, according to Wikipedia.
An Intimate Room for a Nightclub Story
The Wednesday show lands inside a 1,480-seat room that Billboard named its No. 1 top venue worldwide in 2025 for spaces under 2,000 capacity, according to BroadwayWorld. That relatively compact scale suits an album built around a story set in a fictional nightclub, a fit noted by Las Vegas Live. Hoodline has also covered another Encore Theater booking, when Love Actually in Concert is scheduled for December 17, 2026, and also reported on Roger Daltrey's headlining run there in August.
Adam Ant, appearing as special guest for the Encore Theater date, built a multi-platinum career in the late 1970s and early 1980s fronting Adam and the Ants and later as a solo artist, topping charts with new wave hits including Goody Two Shoes and Stand and Deliver, per Live Nation. The Wednesday stop is part of Squeeze's broader Tried, Tested and Trixies tour, a 27-date North American run through August and September that has also featured Haircut 100 on most dates, according to JamBase.
What's Next for the Tour
Squeeze is scheduled to play The O2 in London on November 26 with Billy Bragg. Hoodline reported on the tour's earlier stretch when Squeeze and Adam Ant played The BayCare Sound in Clearwater, Florida, in August.
Elsewhere on the Las Vegas Valley entertainment calendar this week, Henderson's Delaware Lounge inside Sun City Anthem hosts its own community show. Miss Melanie Moore will perform in the Rendezvous series, presented by Mistinguett Productions, Monday at 7 p.m. at the venue on Hampton Road. The lineup includes Brahm Sheray on bass, Brenda Cowart on keys, Adam Shendal on drums, Steven Lee on guitar and Lannie Counts as guest vocalist. Community shows at the lounge are typically priced between $25 and $30 for residents, according to Sun City Anthem.
