Sunland Park firefighters responded to two flooded homes in Anapra on Wednesday morning and rescued a mother and her three children from one of them, KFOX reported, citing the fire department.
The calls involved homes on Carlos Aguirre Street and Riverview Court, according to KFOX, which cited the fire department.
Assistance After the Rescue
The Red Cross was called to assist the family after the rescue, KFOX reported.

Anapra’s Flooding and Infrastructure
Anapra experienced severe flooding in fall 2018, when some officials reportedly considered relocating residents before the city awarded a contract for a new pumping station, Border Report noted.
KVIA reported that Sunland Park broke ground Tuesday, September 15, on the fourth phase of a street construction project on Calle Carrosel and Obregon in Anapra. The mayor said the community sits in a bowl and the project would add infrastructure intended to move water toward the Rio Grande; that separate project report does not establish what caused Wednesday’s flooding.
