Sunny Skies, Breezy Conditions And Dangerous Surf
Downtown Honolulu and nearby neighborhoods should stay mostly dry through the day. Trade winds will be breezy to locally strong, but less intense than the previous couple of days, and are expected to diminish through Monday night.
The National Weather Service has a high surf advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Monday for specified areas, including Kauai South and Koolau Windward. Advisory-level surf may persist, and beachgoers should follow ocean safety guidance.
A Drier Monday Gives Way To Showers Tuesday Night
Monday night, winds are expected to diminish, followed by another warm and mostly sunny day Tuesday with a high around 88 degrees. Rain chances rise Tuesday night as moisture trailing Hurricane Nolo moves closer; Waialua is forecast to have scattered showers.
Wednesday brings scattered showers, with Waialua forecast to reach a high of 86 degrees. Showers may linger Thursday morning before skies turn partly sunny.
A Noticeable Shift From The Weekend’s Windier Pattern
The forecast is a calmer turn from the blustery conditions covered in Hoodline’s weekend update, but the ocean remains unsettled. Boaters should expect rough conditions in exposed waters through Monday evening, while swimmers should give the south shore plenty of space until the advisory expires.
