Super Chix Chicken & Custard is coming to downtown Woodstock. The fast-casual chicken chain has been named among the first-wave tenants for the Woodstock Mill District, an 11-acre development taking shape at the intersection of Towne Lake Parkway and Woodstock Parkway.
The announcement comes from Urbanize Atlanta, which reported that the 118,000-square-foot district is now 79 percent leased following commitments from nine local, regional, and national tenants in its new buildings. Super Chix, described in the report as a fast-casual concept, already has nearly 50 locations spread across 10 states, giving Woodstock a taste of a chain with a growing regional footprint.
The site itself sits about 0.4 miles east of Interstate 575, according to a separate Urbanize Atlanta report on the project's earlier planning stages. That same account describes plans for six freestanding buildings ranging from 3,500 to 13,750 square feet, with restaurant spaces oriented to face a planned traffic circle at the property's center.
Publix-Anchored Project Broke Ground Last Year
Atlanta-based developer Connolly closed on the 11-acre parcel on September 25, 2025, and began construction immediately afterward, per whatnow.com. The same report projects the finished district will house more than 30 retail shops and restaurants alongside a 635-space parking deck, all anchored by a Publix grocery store.
Sources differ on exactly how large that Publix will be. Urbanize Atlanta's more recent tenant report puts the anchor store at 48,000 square feet, while whatnow.com's account describes a 46,791-square-foot Publix Super Market. Connolly's own portfolio page, meanwhile, describes the broader project as roughly 89,000 square feet of new construction paired with about 28,000 square feet of existing retail space slated for renovation, according to connollyrealty.com.
Timeline Still in Flux
When shoppers and diners can actually expect to walk through the Mill District also remains unsettled. Urbanize Atlanta's latest report states the district is on pace for a spring 2027 debut, attributed to Connolly, while an earlier Urbanize Atlanta report on the project's planning phase described a schedule calling for delivery in phases throughout the second half of 2026. The two timelines have not been reconciled in reporting so far.
The area's draw, at least on paper, looks strong for a chain like Super Chix. Urbanize Atlanta's tenant report puts the median home value within three miles of the site at $453,847 and household income at $117,865, while the earlier planning-stage report from the same outlet cited a somewhat different figure from Connolly, describing 70,000 residents within that three-mile radius pulling an average household income of $114,500. Traffic counts are more consistent: Towne Lake Parkway near the site sees nearly 33,000 vehicles pass by each day, per the tenant report.
For now, downtown Woodstock residents have a name to watch for on the marquee once the Mill District's freestanding buildings start filling in around that planned traffic circle. Whether the doors open in the back half of 2026 or wait until spring 2027, Super Chix's arrival adds a national chicken chain to a leasing roster that developers describe as already closing in on full.
