The visit and concert, both held on Wednesday, tied together the couple's musical comeback as the reworked version of The Band Perry with a hospital where Kimberly Perry's own family history runs deep.
The duo joined patients and families at Le Bonheur's Seacrest Studios, a broadcast facility inside the hospital that let kids stuck in their rooms watch and take part from bed, according to WMC. The studio hosted a live show with games and a question-and-answer session, and Costello said afterward that “everyone was spot-on with the answers.” Kimberly Perry called the visit “just such a joy to be here,” adding, “we played games with the kids.”
A Family Connection to Pediatric Medicine
The hospital visit carried personal weight for Kimberly Perry, who is the daughter of a pediatrician and grew up accompanying her father on hospital rounds in Mississippi. Her father, Dr. Steve Perry, practiced at Madison Ridgeland Pediatrics in Mississippi before relocating his practice to Grand Bay, Alabama, in 1996, according to the Mississippi Legislative Bill Status System. Kimberly Perry and Costello, both Tennessee natives, are also parents themselves, raising a toddler son named Whitaker James.
Seacrest Studios broadcasts to televisions throughout Le Bonheur Children's Hospital, giving bedridden patients a way to watch and join in from their rooms. The 1,275-square-foot studio opened in May 2023 as part of a $95 million hospital expansion, built in partnership with the Ryan Seacrest Foundation, per localmemphis.com. A Record Night at Minglewood Hall
That evening, Kimberly Perry and Costello headlined 99.7 The Wolf's Stars and Guitars showcase at Minglewood Hall, joining Brent Smith and Zach Myers of Shinedown, Zach John King, and Greylan James on stage in a guitar round format — a storytellers' showcase where artists trade songs and share the stories behind them. Kimberly Perry said the guitar round included about five rounds and called it “very much a storyteller's show,” noting it's one of her favorite formats. The event was organized in partnership with 99.7 The Wolf and the Brian T. Grass Foundation.
Proceeds from the Minglewood Hall event benefited Le Bonheur Children's Hospital programs and patient care, and this year's total topped $35,000, the highest single-night sum the annual event has raised, the hospital announced on Facebook following the show. Minglewood Hall itself, a converted 1938 bread factory at 1555 Madison Avenue, anchors Midtown's entertainment corridor and holds up to 1,600 people in its main hall, according to Eventective.
A Reunited Duo Returns to the Stage
The Band Perry, which now includes Grammy winners Kimberly Perry and Costello, relaunched in February 2026 as a two-person act under the banner “Season 2,” releasing the single “PSYCHOLOGICAL” after the original sibling trio entered an official hiatus in 2023, per Taste of Country. The original trio broke through nationally in 2010 with “If I Die Young.” Shinedown's Zach Myers, who shared the stage with the couple, is himself a Memphis native who has long maintained ties to the city's music scene.
