Three juveniles were wounded in an overnight shooting in northwest Harris County.
According to KPRC Click2Houston, the shooting was reported to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, which handles law enforcement in much of this unincorporated stretch of the county. The outlet reported that investigators have released no additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting, and the case remains under investigation. Precinct 4, led by Constable Mark Herman, is the largest constable agency in the country, with more than 670 sworn deputies covering over 1.1 million residents across 520 square miles, according to Hoodline.

Reports have described teen-involved shootings across the Houston area. A bond was denied in connection with separate fatal shootings of teenagers. One of those cases involved the February 2026 killing of a 17-year-old girl on Milroy Lane in northwest Harris County — a shooting court records show was captured on surveillance video, according to the station's reporting.
Texas Law on Firearm Access
Because Texas law classifies anyone under 17 as a juvenile, any teenage suspects eventually identified in this case would fall under the jurisdiction of the state's juvenile court system rather than being tried as adults, unless a judge formally certifies a case for adult prosecution, per the Texas Penal Code. That framework also shields juvenile records from public disclosure in most circumstances.
Under Texas Penal Code § 46.13, an adult can be charged with a Class C misdemeanor if, through criminal negligence, the adult makes a readily dischargeable firearm accessible to a child under 17. The offense becomes a Class A misdemeanor, carrying up to $4,000 in fines and a year in jail, only if the child discharges the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury, according to the Texas Concealedcarry Safety Course.
Familiar Territory for Northwest Harris County
This is not the first time a youth dispute has turned deadly in the area. In March 2025, a 14-year-old boy was shot and killed near a retention pond in Katy after an argument between two groups of teenagers escalated into gunfire, a case Hoodline covered in its report on that Katy shooting.
