Two people were found dead at a home in the South River Manor subdivision of McDonough on Wednesday, according to law enforcement officials, prompting a heavy police response around Limbaugh Valley Drive. Police responded to the home, and a large scene was quickly taped off around the house.

Per WSB-TV, law enforcement officials confirmed that two people were dead at the Henry County scene, though officials provided no other information immediately about how they died or their identities.
Witness Michael Doudna told the station he saw two men being patted down and placed into police vehicles near the scene, and the men were not handcuffed. NewsChopper 2 flew above the scene on Limbaugh Valley Drive as police and emergency vehicles converged on the quiet subdivision, according to the same report. The report did not identify the two men seen with police.

South River Manor is a McDonough subdivision. The neighborhood sits within a county that has grown rapidly in recent years, with Henry County's population climbing 10.1 percent between 2020 and 2025, from 240,712 residents to roughly 264,922, per the same source.

Officials provided no other information immediately, and have not said whether the deaths are being investigated as a homicide, a domestic incident, or something else. If charges are eventually filed, Georgia Code § 16-5-1 defines murder through malice murder and felony murder classifications, punishable by life imprisonment with or without parole, or the death penalty, according to Justia. Malice murder under that statute requires demonstrating express or implied intent to take a human life, though no such determination has been made public in this case.

Wednesday's discovery follows a fatal residential case in McDonough that police investigated in August 2025. In August 2025, police investigated a suspected murder-suicide on Onyx Drive, after SWAT officers found a woman dead outside her residence from an apparent gunshot wound and her husband dead inside from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. That case drew community vigils in the aftermath.
