A man was hospitalized Thursday evening after being shot in the 1100 block of Linn Street in Cincinnati's West End, according to police. The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. at 1132 Linn Street, and the victim was taken to UC Medical Center with what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspects have been identified, and police have not determined what led up to the shooting, according to WKRC. The station reports the investigation remains active, with no further details released on a motive or possible suspects. UC Medical Center, where the man was treated, is the region's only adult Level I Trauma Center, a designation that reflects an emergency-department expansion completed in recent years as a major component of the broader $221 million Clifton Campus Revitalization, according to UC Health.
The shooting adds to a run of gunfire in the neighborhood this month. Just two days earlier, reported gunfire near Betton Street and Laurel Park Drive triggered a brief lockdown and delayed dismissal at Robert A. Taft Information Technology High School in the West End, as Hoodline previously reported.
A Corridor With a History of Gunfire
This is not the first shooting reported along Linn Street this year. On July 7, a person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an early-morning shooting in the 1600 block of Linn Street near Liberty Street, according to WCPO 9. That earlier shooting occurred near a Metro bus stop, according to the station.
The 1100 block of Linn Street falls within Cincinnati Police Department District 1, which patrols six urban core neighborhoods including the West End, Over-the-Rhine, and Queensgate, per the City of Cincinnati. The department also operates a headquarters and has a central Records Section.

West End Ranks Among City's Violence Hotspots
The West End is among five city neighborhoods — alongside Over-the-Rhine, Avondale, Winton Hills, and Walnut Hills — with the highest rates of gun violence, Hoodline has previously reported.
That pattern prompted a municipal response last year. In September 2025, Cincinnati City Council earmarked $150,000 specifically for security camera expansion in the West End following an uptick in summer shootings, according to WKRC. The council's camera expansion effort addressed security in the West End.
Investment Efforts Continue Alongside Violence
A municipal official and housing units have been mentioned in connection with Linn Street.
Separately, city leaders introduced a free, voluntary safe gun storage program in December 2024 allowing residents to store personal firearms in the police property room at 801 Linn Street for up to six months, WCPO 9 reported at the time. The program offered residents a voluntary way to store firearms for up to six months.
Police have not said whether Thursday's shooting is connected to the earlier gunfire reported near Taft High School or the July shooting further up Linn Street. The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been announced.
