The high should reach 97 degrees before temperatures ease slightly, while stronger southwest winds make the day feel more active than the forecast temperature alone suggests.
Sunny Tuesday Brings A Gusty Afternoon
South winds will increase through the day, reaching 7 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas. Temperatures should climb through the 90s around midday and peak during the afternoon, with very dry air adding to the need for water and shade during outdoor plans.
Tuesday night will be mostly clear, breezy and cooler, with a low near 74 degrees. The southwest wind could still gust close to 30 mph after sunset, so lightweight outdoor furniture, umbrellas and decorations may need a little attention.
Dry Weather Holds Through Friday
Wednesday brings sunny skies and a high near 95 degrees, followed by a mostly clear night near 73. Thursday and Friday stay sunny, with highs around 96 and 97 degrees, respectively, while overnight temperatures remain in the mid-70s.
That is still classic desert heat, but it is a noticeable step down from the valley's recent 100-plus-degree run. The latest forecast also marks a substantive shift from Monday's Hoodline forecast, which called for a drier and hotter-feeling stretch before the weekend weather became more unsettled.
Weekend Storm Chances Make A Comeback
Rain chances increase late Friday and continue through Labor Day. Saturday carries a 27% chance of showers and thunderstorms with a high near 93 degrees, Sunday has a 34% chance with a high near 91, and Monday brings a 33% chance with a high near 94.
The odds still favor mostly dry conditions, but outdoor plans could face brief showers, thunderstorms or sudden wind shifts, especially during the afternoon. For now, Tuesday through Friday look best for reliably sunny plans, while the holiday weekend deserves a quick forecast check before heading out.
