A new Wingstop appears to be headed for the Oakland Boulevard corridor in east Fort Worth, according to a state project registration that lists a $300,000 renovation at 2526 Oakland Boulevard. The filing describes a tenant buildout rather than a new freestanding restaurant, with construction scheduled to run from Dec. 15, 2026, through March 16, 2027. No opening date has been announced.
The registration, detailed by Texas Construction Media, shows the restaurant would occupy 1,246 square feet inside an existing building. Work would include interior demolition, new partitions, updated finishes, equipment, and lighting and electrical upgrades. Wilkus Architects is listed as the design firm, and Oakland Associates, LTD, care of Haydn Cutler Companies, is named as the property owner. A related project record from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation identifies the facility as Wingstop at 2526 Oakland Blvd. in Tarrant County, filed under project number TABS2027001054.
According to WhatNow Dallas, public filings report that Wingstop plans to open at the Oakland Boulevard address. WhatNow Dallas says public filing dates are not always definitive — permitting records list March 2027 as the construction completion date, but that doesn't guarantee when doors will actually open.
A Familiar Name for a New Stretch of Road
Oakland Boulevard was not listed in the official city directory reviewed for the Texas Construction Media report, even though Wingstop already operates elsewhere in Fort Worth, including locations on Eastchase Parkway and East Seminary Drive. WhatNow Dallas separately reports that Wingstop has a new restaurant on East Seminary Drive, adding to a local footprint that has also seen relocations across Tarrant County, including moves in Fort Worth and Arlington aimed at improving customer parking.
The brand's growth in the area isn't limited to this single address. WhatNow Dallas reports that ARS Brands opened its 19th DFW-area Wingstop at 9116 Camp Bowie West Blvd., with the same operator also running Dunkin' locations across the region. Once open, the Oakland Boulevard location would presumably serve the chain's staples — bone-in wings, boneless wings, crispy tenders and chicken sandwiches. Wingstop was founded in Garland, Texas, in 1994, per WhatNow Dallas. The chain has more than 3,000 locations worldwide.
For now, the Oakland Boulevard project remains in the filing stage, with construction not set to begin for months. Whether the new restaurant will offer every item on Wingstop's broader menu, and exactly when it will welcome its first customers, are details that haven't yet been made public.
