Worcester's The Bra Shop is bringing its specialty lingerie business to Wellesley Square, with a second location planned for 22 Church Street. The store is expected to open in early November 2026, according to founder Stephanie Ramey, and will offer both walk-in shopping and professional fittings by appointment.
The Bra Shop is a Worcester-based specialty lingerie and intimates boutique that opened its original location in 2021, according to WhatNow. Ramey founded the company around education-first fittings, and the Wellesley expansion is meant to make that service more accessible to shoppers across MetroWest and Greater Boston. As Worcester Business Journal reports, the new shop will offer walk-in shopping and fittings by appointment, along with bras, lingerie, sleepwear, gifts and accessories.
Why Wellesley, and Why Now
Ramey has said customers already travel an hour or more to reach the Worcester boutique for a proper fitting, a detail the Worcester Business Journal's report also notes. Placing a second store closer to Boston's western suburbs is meant to cut that drive for a large swath of her existing customer base. The Bra Shop carries a wide range of merchandise, including bras, bralettes, lingerie, panties, shapewear, sleepwear, loungewear and giftable items, per WhatNow's reporting.
The company's size range has been described two ways. Local news coverage from the Worcester Guardian states that the shop carries band sizes 28 through 48-plus and cup sizes A through O, while the store's own online fitting-appointment page lists a narrower band range of 30 to 44-plus alongside the same A-to-O cup sizing. Either way, the assortment is built around the kind of inclusive sizing that Ramey has said many shoppers can't easily find elsewhere.
What The Wellesley Store Will Look Like
The new location is expected to include four fitting rooms and ample storage space for the range of sizes and shapes The Bra Shop carries, and it will carry over the original store's signature pink ceiling. Fittings there will involve measuring customers, discussing what they're looking for, and guiding them through styles across the full size range, according to the shop's own bra fitting appointment page. Ramey has said a large share of the women who visit the store, somewhere between 80 and 90 percent, feel that their current bras don't fit well, often because they've never had access to proper fitting education or the right styles.
The Bra Shop's Worcester store also underwent its own transformation recently. According to the Worcester Guardian, the company relocated and rebranded from The O Shop to The Bra Shop in November 2025, a year before the Wellesley expansion. The Worcester Guardian's report also notes that the business specializes in professional fittings and fit education.
Project Uplift and a Bigger Expansion Plan
Beyond retail, The Bra Shop runs Project Uplift, a community initiative launched in Worcester that provides qualifying girls in grades 5 through 12 with a complimentary bra and sports bra, along with education about proper fit and care. The program is operated in partnership with the United Way of Central Massachusetts. The Bra Shop has connected the effort to broader concerns about adolescent girls dropping out of sports, pointing to confidence, body image and access to supportive sports bras as contributing factors.
Wellesley is not expected to be the company's last stop. Ramey has said she hopes to eventually grow The Bra Shop to somewhere between six and 10 locations throughout Massachusetts and potentially beyond, framing the Wellesley store as part of a broader push to bring professional fitting services closer to customers across the MetroWest and Greater Boston area, according to The Swellesley Report. No specific opening date within November has been announced, according to What's Up Worcester.
