Tribeca is getting a theatrical new dinner-and-show destination. A 280-seat Art Deco restaurant and supper club called The Thomas is scheduled to open in January 2027 at 62 Thomas Street, built around dinner, live music and performance.

The concept, first reported by Markets of Tomorrow, is already using the tagline “Timeless glamour. Modern spectacle.” to describe what it's building inside the space. Promotional materials show a theater-style dining hall featuring a red stage curtain, a gold fan motif, tiers of banquettes and candlelit tables, evoking an old-school supper club reimagined for a new era. The venue has also released imagery tied to the opening, including a custom burgundy velvet shell-back bar stool set on a gold fluted base, a black-and-white photo of a dancing couple, an Art Deco-style performer illustration, and a logo built around a woman's profile.

The Thomas is currently accepting invitation requests ahead of its debut. Sign-ups are set to receive opening announcements and invitations to private previews in the lead-up to January, along with priority access to reservations once booking opens. A venue page for The Thomas is already live on Resy.

A Storied Tribeca Address Gets a New Chapter

The building has a layered dining history. Voss Events signed on for 12,326 square feet across three levels at 62 Thomas Street, according to Commercial Observer, taking over the former home of Buddha Bar. That footprint breaks down to 5,810 square feet across the ground floor and mezzanine, plus another 6,507 square feet on the lower level, the outlet reported, with asking rent for the space listed at $75,000 a month.

Before Buddha Bar moved in during 2021, the address was known as the home of Megu, the outlet's report notes. Buddha Bar's posh Asian-fusion concept ultimately closed its New York City outpost in 2025, clearing the way for the next tenant to reimagine the space between West Broadway and Church Street.

Built Around a Full Theater Stage

A venue listing on Fever describes 62 Thomas Street as a purpose-built dining and entertainment venue centered around a full proscenium theater. The same listing details a grand showroom with 40-foot ceilings lined with jeweled opera boxes, a massive video wall, advanced lighting and sound, plush furnishings and full-service dining — the kind of stagecraft that aligns with The Thomas's stated focus on live performance alongside dinner service.

Tribeca Joins a Wider Supper Club Wave

The Thomas isn't the only Art Deco-inspired supper club prepping a New York debut. Across town, Lady Delilah is set to open at 353 West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District, according to What Now. That 10,000-square-foot venue is also pairing dining and cocktails with live music and performances, and will include a main dining room, two private dining rooms and its own stage for entertainment. The opening marks The h.wood Group's first entry into New York City, per the report.

Together, the two projects suggest a renewed appetite among New York diners for glamorous, performance-driven dinner experiences modeled on a bygone supper club era. For now, The Thomas's details remain limited to what's been shared through its sign-up campaign and the building's leasing history, with reservations and further programming expected to be announced as the January opening approaches.
