A 79-year-old Louisville man was arrested this week on 74 charges tied to child sexual abuse material and child abuse, after court documents say he voluntarily walked into a police station and confessed. Mack Horn now faces a sprawling list of allegations spanning nine distinct types of charges, including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

According to WKYT, court documents indicate Horn voluntarily went to Louisville Metro Police, waived his Miranda rights and admitted to the allegations against him. The outlet reports he was taken into custody Tuesday on the 74 charges, which cover a wide range of alleged conduct involving children.

Nine Categories of Charges

Court records cited by the same outlet lay out nine separate charge types Horn is now confronting, a list that includes rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Kentucky law defines that last offense under a statute addressing the possession or viewing of material portraying a sexual performance by a minor, according to the Kentucky Legislature.

As reported by WHAS11, Horn faces charges including sexually abusing a victim under 12 years old, sodomizing a victim under 12 years old and raping a victim under 12 years old. WHAS11 also reports he faces charges tied to promoting a sex performance by a minor under 16, using a minor under 16 in a sexual performance, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Arraignment Set for Wednesday

Horn was scheduled to be arraigned in court on Wednesday, per the same account from WKYT's report. Louisville Metro Department of Corrections maintains an inmate search tool for the public, and WHAS11 reported that Horn was being held at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.

The case remains in its early stages. Detectives began investigating after a CPS report and interviewed multiple victims before Horn voluntarily spoke with a detective on Tuesday.
