Albany is starting Thursday, October 29, with clear skies and temperatures around 45 degrees, but the Capital District is headed for a much warmer afternoon. Mostly sunny skies should push temperatures to about 68 degrees before a sharp turn toward windier, colder weather arrives Friday.
Warm Thursday, Few Showers Overnight
Thursday will be mostly sunny with south winds increasing to 10 mph, making it feel more like early fall than late October. According to the National Weather Service, a slight chance of showers is possible Thursday night; the chance of rain is 20% and the low will be near 52.
Friday Winds Set Up A Chilly Halloween
Friday will stay mostly sunny but cooler, with a high near 61 and northwest winds of 7 to 14 mph. Gusts could reach 29 mph, so lightweight Halloween decorations may need more than a polite suggestion to stay put.
Temperatures then drop to around 37 Friday night before Saturday, Halloween, brings sunny skies and a high near 58. Temperatures will fall to about 33 Saturday night.
Dry Weather Holds Into Early Next Week
The latest outlook is drier than Wednesday’s earlier forecast, which had included rain chances on Monday and Tuesday. Hoodline’s previous forecast covered that earlier setup, while the updated outlook now keeps Sunday mostly sunny near 60 and Monday and Tuesday partly sunny near 63, with Tuesday’s high near 60.
The next notable rain chance arrives Wednesday, when rain is possible. No weather watches, warnings or advisories are currently listed for Albany.
