What the Sheriff's Office Is Saying
In a Facebook post, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said, “We are currently experiencing issues with our non-emergency number.”
Until the line is back up, the department says dispatchers will field every kind of call, big or small, through the main emergency number. “Dispatchers will answer emergency and non-emergency calls through 911 until further notice,” the office said in the same post. Officials also promised more information once the problem is fixed, saying they will provide updates once the issue is resolved.
The Sheriff's Office's regular non-emergency dispatch number, listed on its Support Services Bureau page, is 303-795-4711.
For context on how much the county's dispatch operation typically handles, the Town of Foxfield notes that the Arapahoe County Sheriff's 911 dispatch center takes in more than 400 emergency and non-emergency calls on a typical weekday and over 300 on weekends.
