Two people walked into a business near Northwest 50th Street and Portland Avenue, and police say one of them pulled a gun on an employee, took items and left. Oklahoma City police are now asking the public for help identifying both suspects from the robbery, which happened on Oct. 15.
According to KFOR, officers say the two entered the business, and one of them pointed a gun directly at an employee, took items and left. Oklahoma City police are seeking to identify both individuals involved, and anyone with information is asked to contact OKC Crime Stoppers online or at 405-235-7300.
A Pattern of Armed Robberies in Northwest OKC
This is not an isolated headache for residents and business owners in the area. In a separate case, according to News 9, police searched for a suspect following an armed robbery at a pawn shop near North Pennsylvania Avenue and Northwest 23rd Street, where the suspect got away with jewelry on a Friday afternoon. That incident is distinct from the Oct. 15 robbery and involved its own investigation, with officers deploying drones to scour the surrounding area for the suspect.
Northwest Oklahoma City has seen other armed robbery cases pile up this year. As reported by The Oklahoman, one person was arrested after allegedly robbing four gas stations during an hours-long standoff, a spree that began when a gas station reported an armed robbery at 1:45 a.m. on June 16 before the suspect allegedly hit three more locations and returned to an apartment near Northwest 122nd Street and North Meridian Avenue.
Six Men Arrested in Earlier Robbery Spree
Police have had more success cracking other cases in the same part of the city. As noted by KOCO, six men were arrested in connection with multiple armed robberies in northwest Oklahoma City, with victims robbed near the 7200 block of Northwest 122nd Street and the 5500 block of Northwest 50th Street. Investigators said both victims had their cellphones stolen at gunpoint.
In that case, officers arrested Keandrea James Marshall, Braylon Dishawne Bell, Joshuah O'Conner McDaniel, Aniah Floyd, Gerry Darnell Bishop and Daivon Jukie Ingram, each facing two counts of armed robbery. A pistol was found in plain view under the front passenger seat of the suspects' vehicle, and one witness positively identified the men as the people involved in the robberies.
No arrests have been announced in the Oct. 15 robbery, and police have not released descriptions or identities of the two people they are searching for. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward through OKC Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues.
