Atlanta police arrested two suspects in connection with the 2022 shooting death of a man in southwest Atlanta, three days after the killing. The shooting occurred near Windsor Street and I-20.
The shooting itself dates back to March 14, 2022, when Atlanta police officers responded to a call of a person shot near Windsor Street and I-20 in southwest Atlanta at approximately 10:20 p.m., according to the Atlanta Police Department. The shooting occurred at 401 Windsor Street SW.
Two Suspects Caught Days Later in 2022
Just three days after the killing, on March 17, 2022, Atlanta police said detectives apprehended two of the three murder suspects believed to be involved in the Windsor Street homicide, per the department's own account. Those arrestees were identified as 29-year-old Shannon Jackson and 27-year-old Quamarvious Nichols.
Investigators found Jackson and Nichols inside a white Audi A5, the same vehicle police had identified as the one involved in the March 14 homicide, the department said. At the time, police noted that additional charges were pending as the investigation continued.
Two of the three suspects were apprehended; the third suspect's status remains unclear.
Atlanta's Homicide Clearance Rate
The years-long gap between some killings and their resolution has drawn attention to broader trends in the city. An analysis by the Atlanta Community Press Collective (ACPC), published on the Center for Civic Innovation website, found that Atlanta's homicide clearance rate — the share of cases that end in an arrest or are otherwise closed — fell from 53.4% in 2021 to 48.0% in 2025.
That shift suggests Atlanta continues to face challenges in closing homicide cases. In this case, two of the three suspects were apprehended three days after the shooting, while the third suspect's status remains unclear.
