Atlanta police had not identified a suspect or motive in the shooting of a 36-year-old man in southwest Atlanta, and had not said whether he knew the shooter. Detectives were interviewing witnesses at the site police identified as the shooting location, according to FOX 5 Atlanta, which attributed its account to the Atlanta Police Department.
The man was found at a BP gas station at 1975 Campbellton Road SW with gunshot wounds to his head and back. FOX 5 reported that he was awake and breathing when officers found him and that paramedics took him to a hospital; his identity had not been released.
Police placed the shooting scene at The Premier at 1935, an apartment complex at 1935 Alison Court SW, less than a mile from the gas station, FOX 5 reported. Officers found multiple shell casings there. Authorities had not reported a possible suspect or vehicle, and asked people with information to contact Atlanta police or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta. The investigation remained active.
Other reported shootings in the area are separate cases, with no verified link to this investigation. In February 2022, two men with apparent gunshot wounds were found at 1935 Alison Court; one died. The Atlanta Police Department later said Trevion Dashawn Webb was arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and that the case would be closed by arrest. The department’s account of that case identifies the incident as a separate investigation.
FOX 5 also reported that a 26-year-old man was hospitalized after being shot multiple times near the 2100 block of Campbellton Road SW on June 28, 2026; police had not identified a suspect or established a motive in that case. In a separate August 2026 shooting at 2380 Metropolitan Parkway SW, a 36-year-old man arrived at Grady Memorial Hospital by private vehicle in stable condition, according to WSB-TV. FOX 5’s account of the June shooting is available here.
