Atlanta police are seeking help locating Jamiya Denise Everson, 15, last seen near the Columbia Mechanicsville and Mechanicsville Crossing apartment complexes. 11Alive reported that Everson’s mother told officers her daughter had left home without permission and had not returned.
Everson is described as Black, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and 120 pounds, with brown eyes and long black hair usually worn straight, according to the report. It did not specify what she was wearing or where she might have gone. Anyone with information about her whereabouts should call 911 or the Atlanta Police Department at 404-614-6544.
What broader missing-child figures can—and cannot—show
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said it assisted law enforcement with 29,568 missing-child cases in 2024 and helped bring 91% of those children home. Those are nationwide figures; they do not indicate the circumstances or likely outcome of Everson’s individual case.
For people unsure how to report an urgent concern, Atlanta 311 advises calling 911 immediately if someone is missing or abducted in the city, or if the caller believes the person is in danger. The guidance provides a general reporting route and does not establish any additional facts about Everson’s situation.
