Clouds are expected to increase in Austin Monday, but the city is headed for another warm afternoon before a wetter pattern takes shape. The high should reach 84 degrees under mostly sunny skies, making for an easy start to the week outdoors. Rain is unlikely today, with the bigger forecast shift arriving later this week.
Warm, Mostly Sunny Monday Ahead
Temperatures will climb steadily through the morning before topping out near 84 degrees during the afternoon. Winds will be light and variable in the morning, followed by southeast winds of 10 knots or less in the afternoon. Skies should turn increasingly cloudy toward Monday evening.
Small Rain Chance Arrives Tuesday
Monday-night lows are forecast at 63 degrees at Austin Camp Mabry and 61 degrees at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. A slight chance of rain showers returns Tuesday after 4 p.m., though the odds remain just 20% and the high will still reach about 83 degrees. That is a modest update from Hoodline’s earlier Austin forecast, which showed a warmer and drier setup taking shape.
Rain Chances Build Into Thursday And Friday
The forecast becomes less settled Wednesday, when a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms arrives after 1 p.m. Thursday stays mostly cloudy with a high near 81 and another 30% chance of showers, while Friday looks like the wettest day of the workweek with a 50% rain chance and gusts up to 20 mph. The National Weather Service says locally heavy rain remains possible across parts of South Central Texas later in the week, although the exact coverage is still uncertain.
Halloween Weekend Stays Warm
Saturday brings a high near 83 degrees with a chance of showers and thunderstorms, including a 30% chance during the day. Sunday turns partly sunny and warmer, reaching about 87 degrees with only a small rain risk. No watches, warnings or advisories are posted for Austin, but Halloween plans may benefit from a backup option if showers develop late in the week.
