
A Tesla and a Ford Bronco collided on Crow Canyon Road near Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon on Nov. 29, 2025, at about 3:30 p.m. Alix Sparks, 41, a Castro Valley nurse riding in the Bronco, died from her injuries. The Bronco’s driver was injured and received medical treatment, Pleasanton Weekly reported: Pleasanton Weekly.
San Ramon police said Badal Dholaria was driving west on Crow Canyon Road at more than 150 mph. Investigators estimated the Tesla was still traveling above 120 mph when it hit the Bronco’s passenger side, ABC7 News reported: ABC7 News.
How the case changed
After the crash, Dholaria was charged with second-degree murder and four felony DUI counts. His bail was set at $1.2 million, and ABC7 News reported he was held at the Martinez Detention Facility. He initially pleaded not guilty, and the case was set for trial on Nov. 9, according to Pleasanton Weekly.
Dholaria, 28, later entered no-contest pleas to manslaughter, driving under the influence and assault charges. He entered the plea on Sept. 24 at Wakefield Taylor Courthouse in Martinez, Pleasanton Weekly reported. The plea followed a case that had included a murder charge.
Sentencing is pending
Dholaria is scheduled to return to Wakefield Taylor Courthouse on Oct. 15 for sentencing, according to Pleasanton Weekly.
