Washington County investigators say they believe there may be other women who have not come forward in the case against Beaverton photographer Abraham Daniel Lopez, 36. Lopez was arrested in Beaverton on Oct. 20.
The investigation began after a woman reported on Oct. 18 that Lopez had stalked her for several months, according to KPTV. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said deputies also learned that Lopez had engaged in unwanted sexual contact with the woman multiple times.
Photography Work May Have Connected Lopez to Victims
The sheriff’s office says Lopez worked as a photographer in the Portland area and may have met women through that work.
A grand jury returned the indictment on Oct. 28, charging Lopez with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse and stalking, according to the same account.
Deputies Ask Public for Help Identifying Other Victims
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information about Lopez to contact its Investigations Division at 503-846-2500 and reference case number 50-26-14807, according to KPTV.
Support for survivors
For people seeking support, Washington County Victim Services says its Sexual Assault Resource Center offers immediate support, free individual counseling and support groups for survivors. The center’s crisis line is 503-640-5311.
The sheriff’s office has pursued similar sexual assault investigations before. In a separate case, detectives with the agency’s Violent Crimes Unit interviewed multiple women who reported being raped or sexually assaulted, as reported by Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
