The Bexar County Sheriff's Office posted an Attempt to Identify appeal early Wednesday, asking the public to help identify a person. The bulletin, shared just after midnight, follows another identification appeal the agency posted Oct. 2.

The Bexar County Sheriff's Office shared the appeal on X.

The appeal asks the public to help identify a person.

A Pattern of Public Appeals

This latest request follows an October 2 appeal in which the agency asked for help identifying two suspects in connection with fraudulent credit and debit card use in San Antonio, according to an Instagram post by the Bexar County Sheriff's Office

That kind of card fraud carries real legal weight: under Texas Penal Code § 32.31, using a stolen or unauthorized card with intent to defraud is a state jail felony, punishable by 180 days to two years in state jail and fines up to $10,000.

Regardless of how much was actually charged.

In late September, deputies turned to the same playbook for a multi-location retail theft case. After identifying two initial suspects from a September 18 incident, the sheriff's office asked the public to help name three more people still unaccounted for in the case, per the same account. Theft below $2,500 is usually a misdemeanor, while theft valued at $2,500 or more is generally a felony, according to the Dunham & Jones, Attorneys at Law.

From Fraud Cases to Violent Crime

A suspect in a September 24 shooting was described as a Black male wearing a medical boot who fled with a handgun.

These appeals arrive against a backdrop of heavier caseloads for Bexar County investigators. As of October, the county had recorded its 21st homicide of the year, according to KSAT, a figure that underscores how much deputies lean on public tips to keep open cases moving. The sheriff's office has also expanded its technical toolkit, contracting with Flock Safety in May 2025 and deploying more than 500 license plate reader cameras countywide. Deputies have described the cameras as useful for tracking people responsible for burglaries and assaults, reported earlier.

How to Submit a Tip

A wave of high-end burglaries in the Stone Oak area between February and July resulted in more than $5 million in stolen cash, jewelry and watches, according to Texas Public Radio. Separately, the sheriff's office has deployed Flock cameras. For the current appeal, the agency asks people to share its post. Crime Stoppers of San Antonio accepts anonymous tips at 210-224-STOP.
