A new Popeyes restaurant is nearing completion in Bloomfield.
According to The Connecticut Scoop, the Bloomfield Popeyes is nearing completion.
Where Exactly Is the New Popeyes?
The project's precise address has been reported two different ways. An earlier Connecticut Scoop report placed the restaurant at 36 Tunxis Avenue, in the parking lot of Geissler's Plaza, while Hartford Business identified the site as 40 Tunxis Ave. at Filley Pond Plaza, which is anchored by Geissler's Supermarket. Either way, the location sits near the familiar supermarket plaza along Tunxis Avenue.
That earlier Connecticut Scoop report also described the planned building as roughly 2,500 square feet. Town records show a special permit and site plan application tied to a drive-through fast-food restaurant with signage at 40 Tunxis Avenue in a BCD zone, filed by Pritam Patel, according to the Town of Bloomfield.
Part of a Statewide Popeyes Expansion
Bloomfield's project is one of several Popeyes locations moving through the pipeline in Connecticut. The chain also has a location coming soon in Cromwell, while a Wallingford restaurant is working to reopen after a fire, the Connecticut Scoop has reported.
In East Hartford, a new Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen opened near the Augie & Ray's Drive In restaurant at 317 Main St. in late December 2025, according to CT Insider/Journal Inquirer. That location launched with a temporary certificate of occupancy, East Hartford Development Director Eileen Buckheit told the outlet, and site plans show it as a 2,300-square-foot restaurant with dining room seating for more than 40 customers. Around the same time, another Popeyes was nearing completion in the Stop & Shop plaza on West Street in Cromwell, Mayor James Demetriades said in a Facebook post cited by the same report.
For Bloomfield residents, the Popeyes is nearing completion near Geissler's Supermarket.
