According to WKRC, the shooting occurred near 1410 Yarmouth Avenue, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The outlet reports no suspect description has been released beyond the fact that he was seen running from the area immediately after the shooting.
A Street With a Troubled Recent History
A separate police investigation also took place on Yarmouth Avenue this year. In April, District 4 investigated an aggravated menacing case in the 4800 block of Yarmouth Avenue, where an unknown suspect allegedly pointed a rifle at a victim.
The 1400 block itself has also seen serious police activity recently. Cincinnati police opened a death investigation there in January after 39-year-old Kimberly McWhorter was found dead inside her home during a welfare check, per FOX19. Hoodline previously reported on that investigation in a story headlined Cincinnati Police Probe Death of Local Woman Found in Bond Hill Home, as well as the April rifle-pointing incident in a piece titled rifle threat rocks Bond Hill.
Neighborhood Numbers Diverge From Citywide Trend
Tuesday's shooting adds to a troubling pattern in Bond Hill even as Cincinnati's overall violent crime numbers have been improving. Citywide shooting incidents fell 20 percent in 2025 to 283 victims, down from 353 in 2024 and 377 in 2023, according to crime data reviewed by WKRC.
A separate shooting occurred in the neighborhood on September 21, 2026, in the 1200 block of Franklin Avenue, as noted by WXIX.
Potential Charges Under Ohio Law
Cincinnati Police Department District 4, based out of 4150 Reading Road, provides primary law enforcement and investigative services for Bond Hill and neighboring communities including Roselawn, Avondale, and Carthage, according to the City of Cincinnati. If a suspect is identified and charged, Ohio Revised Code Section 2903.11 classifies causing or attempting to cause physical harm with a deadly weapon as felonious assault, a second-degree felony carrying two to eight years in prison and fines up to $15,000, per Ohio Laws.
Ohio law allows at most two consecutive firearm-specification terms. No arrests have been announced in Tuesday's shooting, and the suspect's identity and motive remain unknown as investigators continue working the case.
